+1 #33 James Louis Reeves 2010-09-02 23:48 Parrot Tracks must be the best equipped studio this side of Nashville… But the REAL power to make your music fly sits in the chair in front of the console.

So much experience in all facets of the music business, the unique intelligence to synthesize it, and a heart for the sound.
George Coyne is truly a Maestro!

+2 #30 Jon Napier 2010-05-29 02:54 I've got a good one. I went into Parrot Tracks to help finish our dearly departed friend's record. One of my attempted contributions was playing banjo. My banjo is a good one but suffered from my lack of knowing how to properly maintain it. We ran a couple takes and George said, "Can I see that banjo for a few minutes?" He took it into his shop, did what he does, and it's been a different instrument ever since. I'm not sure if he used wrenches or just talked to it, but it's not been the same since. Parrot tracks is a "one stop shop". George is a great engineer, musician, instru ment whisperer and dude all in one. Hope I get to work there again soon! Thanks George, for getting the best out of me for Larry! Quote

+3 #23 woode wood 2009-11-24 13:02 I’m going to be completely honest with ya. I’ve never mastered my records anywhere else, only with George at Parrot Tracks. I put out ten records before I mastered my first, “Whole ‘Nother Life.” It was the first one that I was proud enough of. I researched and chose George because he had the most reasonable rates in Austin, including that first record I have now mastered 7 records with George, and on December 2, 2009 will master “Leap,” my 18th overall. The entire experience was first rate and I am very proud of the finished product, which has evoked so much praise and appreciation from a wide assortment of listeners. I am Looking forward to beginning my next project with George. I totally recommend him. Quote

+4 #21 Jannie Funster 2009-09-22 11:29 George is not only a top-notch musician and recording / engineer / mastering guy but he is a great person and a lot of FUN to work with.

And he's become a real friend too over the 3 or 4 years I've been working with him.

Could a studio get any better? Probably not. How'd we get so lucky??

+5 #18 Ernie Durawa 2009-08-09 16:29 George is a Gem…His studio is the nicest one I have seen in Austin…He is a master engineer and as a musician knows what he wants to hear in most sessions.

I have done many sessions there and I highly recommend Parrot Tracks studio for a fine recording…also you can cool off in the swimming pool if you are recording in August.

George has been my friend for many years and I always enjoy working with him.

Many Guppies George!

+4 #17 Renita PlayFlute4U 2009-08-05 16:01 Before working with Alicia Gill and Michael Davis at Parrot Tracks, Alicia raved about George, and the relaxed, special way he has of bringing out the best in individual artists' music. I happened to post a link to Parrot Tracks using my Facebook account, and the number of comments I received from many local musicians was astounding. Seems everyone loves Parrot Tracks for it's state of the art equipment and atmosphere, yet what they wrote about most is how wonderful GEORGE and his professional expertise is. After the session I spent with George, I cannot agree with them MORE! Thank you George, look forward to years of knowing you and Parrot Tracks. Quote

+4 #16 Alicia Gill 2009-08-03 17:26 Parrot Tracks is a beautiful studio in a comfortable setting with everything you need for a quality recording experience. Best of all, it has George Coyne! Not only is George the consummate professional for your projects, but he’s a genius at unlocking talent you didn’t even know existed within you, and an extremely talented musician with a wonderful personality. George, thank you so very much for performing on our CD! It’s always such a joy to hear you play, but to hear you on our project is such an honor, and you really make our tunes sound great! Now “Hanalei Bay” transports us immediately where we want to be…Kauai. Thanks again for playing, and all your hard work, patience, and most of all your teaching. We really have learned so much from you and continue to still – and we will get finished! You're the best! Mahalo Nui Loa Quote

+4 #15 Glen Worley 2009-07-28 15:55 I've recorded at all the different locations of Parrot Tracks and this is the best! George cares about the sound and knows how to get it. He also did a great job of digital restoration of some old tapes of former bands, The Rattlecats and The Rivals. If not for him, that music would have been lost. My current band, The Soulphonics, will be recording with George in the near future. Quote

+4 #14 Rachel Bowery 2009-07-27 10:03 The first time I stepped into George's studio I was at home. George has brought out the best in me and my music. With his expertise and Don Tellum's fantastic guitar work, along with all the wonderful musicians George has turned me onto, my project evolved from a few melodies with words into full blown professional recordings. I would never think of recording anywhere else. George is the best! Quote

+4 #13 Michael Davis 2009-07-23 14:27 I told George not long ago that he not only has a great ear for whatever music was coming at him (most, anyway) but more important he is a great teacher. Not to mention the patience of Job. George also has a great talent in getting out of a musician those little phrases locked up in those hidden spaces of the mind.

The studio is a delight. Great gear, great ambience, great sound, and George. Once I got over first day jitters and kind of had an idea of how George works, Parrot Tracks felt like a second home.

And George, I am starting mental planning for the next one and with what I have learned, it will go more smoothly.

George, sorry I couldn't "keep it simple."

+4 #12 Jim Stricklan 2009-07-23 11:51 From the first moment I walked into the beautifully cedar-paneled, well-equipped Parrot Tracks studio and met George Coyne, I knew I'd found a jewel in the Austin recording community. That was more than ten years and dozens of sessions ago. Great studio…great producer and engineer…remarkab le guitarist…good friend. Thanks George! Quote

+4 #11 Leti De La Vega 2009-07-22 13:48 The engineer running a studio is what makes that studio what it is, and with Parrot Tracks Studio, George Coyne is the Man! He has made it into the most down-home, country-comfortable environment, while retaining the professional sophistication and equipment it takes to get great recordings. All this translates into a relaxed and inspired session every time. All the musicians I have ever worked with in his studio agree: It's the best studio we have ever recorded in.

+4 #10 Joe Blanda 2009-07-22 10:44 I love Parrot Tracks! Such a cool studio. And always a pleasure to work with my buddy George, who anticipates my needs and makes me feel right at home. As a songwriter, over the years I've recorded numerous demos, a complete CD, and even spoken word tracks there. I've also used his audio restoration service to reclaim and enhance recordings made on cassette and reel-to-reel tape. PS: He can also fix your guitar . . . Quote

+4 #9 Christina Bell 2009-07-20 22:53 George is a true professional and is so easy and fun to work with! Parrot Tracks is one of the best studios I've ever been in. George really knows music and will do whatever it takes to get your music sounding great! Quote

+4 #8 Ryan Rader 2009-07-20 12:20 Just finished a couple sessions at Parrot Tracks with award winning Los Texas Wranglers. I have worked with George with a slew of different artists on several projects. As always, George did an outstanding job. Los Texas Wranglers said this was the best studio they had ever worked in. It is my favorite studio to record in. I know everything will be done to the highest standards. I look forward to doing many more projects at Parrot Tracks. Quote

+4 #7 Kevin Hall 2009-07-20 01:59 George is a total pro… musician and engineer, great ears and knows how to make things sound amazing. Every time I've worked here, he has the material ready way in advance so everybody involved in the session is 100% prepared, no time wasted. Great vibe, no pressure, Parrot Tracks rocks. Quote

+4 #6 Doug Marsh 2009-07-19 15:52 We had a great time working with George. His expertise in getting all of our instruments to sound right in a live band setting was the key to our successful recording. I really like it that George is a good guitar player/tech as well and understands what it is to be be a musician because he is one too not just an engineer. George's experience with so many projects makes a difference in his role as producer while he is recording. His sense of humor is great too. Thanks, Catch a Dream Band Quote

+4 #5 Mandy Mercier 2009-07-18 17:37 Been working with George since 1980, he is a brilliant musician and great friend. His studio is great as well, excellent equipment, very nice amenities, lovely atmosphere out in the country (but easy to get to), etc. More than that, George has wonderful "ears" and a feel for music of all kinds. He is a superb, highly skilled technician but added to that he has heart and soul. I recommend him and Parrot Tracks without reservation!!! Rock on Quote

+4 #4 Melissa Miller 2009-07-18 09:30 George interprets the feel of the song with the sensitivity only an artist and fellow musician understands. He brainstorms with the writer suggesting innovative ideas that enhance the texture and mood of the song. The best producer I've ever worked with, he takes care of the nuts and bolts of my songs. Quote

+5 #3 Don Tellum 2009-07-17 00:31 A great place to work George knows how to bring out the best in a song and helps you develop your ideas. Quote

+4 #2 Ric Fox 2009-07-16 10:26 Recording at Parrot Tracks was a great experience. George really knows music and he knew instinctively how to identify and capture the sound that was right for my songs. And the environment he provides helps keep the creative juices flowing, allowing for those magic moments to arise during a session.

I think of it like a boutique studio. It has a great intimate atmosphere, but there's plenty of room for a whole band to spread out and not feel cramped.

Overall: Great vibe; very professional.
